My Mission and Purpose

I spend my time now, when I’m not painting, trying to dispel the stigma that surrounds this disorder and shine a light on what has been a very difficult and challenging journey for me and others like me. I am extremely fortunate to still be here and if my journey can help even just one person than it will have been worth every minute.

Involvement in Northern Ireland's Personality Disorders Network

I currently sit on Northern Ireland’s Personality Disorders Network as a volunteer expert by lived experience. Through this network, we are striving to improve services and promote knowledge and proper understanding of BPD. We are part of a ten-year mental health strategy that plans to improve the lives of people who are affected by Personality disorders throughout Northern Ireland.

Workshops and Advice

I provide workshops and advice based on my journey through Anorexia, depression, self-harm and ultimately the borderline personality disorder diagnosis that saved my life and led me back to my passion for Art.

These workshops include knowledge and learning of skills that help me deal with day-to-day difficulties such as

  • Tolerating distress
  • Regulating emotions
  • Dealing with different types of relationships
  • Using mindfulness to calm racing thoughts
  • Crisis survival

Workshops can be for groups or individuals who are interested in learning how to live a life worth living from a lived experience point of view.
